The Historical Society of Charles County establishes the Friends of Rich Hill Steering Committee and holds its first meeting.

The Surratt Society wages an extensive fundraising campaign among its membership and raises $2,500.00 for the Friends of Rich Hill.

The Maryland Independent: “Renovations to Historic Rich Hill will add attraction to Booth Trail”.

Dendrochronology study revealed the house was constructed in 1729.

In the early morning hours of April 16, 1865, Booth and his accomplice David Herold arrived at Rich Hill. They were given a meal by the owner, Colonel Samuel Cox, who then helped hide the fugitives in a nearby pine thicket to evade Union troops.
